Huddersfield not getting any more points is our best bet. Mind you they will probably beat one of Chelsea or Citeh away and definitely Arsenal at home. Wagner will see they fight for their lives

Idiots did, fans/supporters with any sense did not

The thing is, even if the retractable seating had worked smoothly, and converted the ground in a couple of hours, it would still have been miles from the pitch. The owners probably knew that from the get go, and certainly knew it quite early, but ploughed on with the deal anyway, knowing full well distance from the pitch was the number 1 issue with the fans. They went and sold Upton Park long before it was too late to pull out of the deal, which they promised they would do if they couldn't get us as close as promised.

Lies, lies, lies, or criminal negligence at best. Bit of both, I reckon.

We got suckered into this "Next Level" bollox and the promise of retractable seating. with neither materialising; relegation is still worse as we'll have teams coming to the hotpoint playing like its a cup final as we saw when sides came to Upton Park, who remembers the 1-1 with Doncaster?

Re: Relegation
Not sure if this has been posted anywhere but as Lily mentioned Spurs' new stadium, there's an interesting article here on how the costs have spiralled massively and the impact that will probably have.

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/apr/30/tottenham-reality-check-stadium-costs-escalate-mauricio-pochettino

Might be some time before Levy breaks their wage structure if the ground is going to end up costing a billion fucking quid ! Wait till they sell Kane to City over the summer and Poch fucks off too...hehehe...

I agree with all that and with the feeling and sentiment. But what's done is done, nobody can undo it.

Any humiliation of relegation pales into insignificance compared to the humiliation of selling our soul for that shit hole. It's humiliating to think we didn't fight tooth and claw to stop the move, instead of believing the bullshit which, with the benefit of hindsight, they could never deliver on without demolishing and rebuilding.

I feel humiliated that spurs and chelsea will have proper football stadiums in their traditional plots whereas we get a badly converted athletics stadium. And I feel humiliated to wear the tattoo when it seems most of our fans seem willing to settle for this shit situation, trying to tell me "the ground isn't that bad."

What difference does relegation make to that stae of affairs?

Sweet FA, that's what.

Re: Relegation
Spandex,

Spot on with that, the moment we go and inquire after another 10 Jordan Hugill types the clubs will slap an extra £5 - 10m on their already ridiculous price tag.

Re: Relegation
Actually, this could be interesting! This from the Premier League handbook:

'C.14: If at the end of the Season either the League Champions or the Clubs to be relegated or the question of qualification for other competitions cannot be determined because two or more Clubs are equal on points, goal difference and goals scored, the Clubs concerned shall play off one or more deciding League Matches on neutral grounds, the format, timing and venue of which shall be determined by the Board.'

Can you imagine it?! A Playoff to see who goes down!

It's the west ham way. Probably us v Southampton and Charlie Austin scores the winner with the last kick of the match. With his knee that Sullivan said was fucked!

Re: Relegation
You know we will go down after being level on everything with Huddersfield but getting relegated alphabetically!

Re: Relegation
A large support will still go in the hope that we'll put out a team that can compete well in that league. It's likely too for that first season as we'll have the sort of budget Sullivan & Gold can hand over and the draw of some of the best players in the lower leagues wanting to have a go at stepping up.

It will eventually go tits up though when they find the prices aren't going to drop but increase when West Ham enquire.

Re: Relegation
We've even had great crowds at our new ground in the cup competions against lower-league outfits, even when we're doing shit in the league.

"15k crows will gather on the OS when we are relegated signalling the demise of the club."

We'll get at least 35k average in the Championship. A fair bit more if we walk the league.

Happy to have a bet on that, if we go down?

We've always had great support in the second-tier irrespective of shit owners in the past.

There aren't many clubs with fans as dedicated, loyal and passionate as ours. If any.

I have us down on goal differencewithout securing another point, but only because I've factored Huddersfield getting a point at home to Arsenal on the last game. I cannot see where our next point will come from.

Agreed, they look very decent and play good football as well.

Part of me hopes they just miss out on promotion so that we can nab their manager and a few of their players.

Then I remind myself how pointless such thoughts are as we are stuck with Moyes and absolute mediocrity (at best) for the long term.

Re Quashie, hope he enjoys his retirement.

Re Port Vale, that was for illustrative purposes only. Actual teams may vary.

Re Millwall, we can hope for that draw in a cup.

Re affording coffee and beer, the food and drink at the stadium is a fucking rip off, and a few beers will require a few visits to the loo, meaning you'll miss the action against Port Vale (illustrative only).

Re staying up, I bloody well hope you're right.

Coffee

if it makes you feel any better than Quasie has retired and Port Vale aren't coming up.

Fancy an away trip to Millwall and another play off final?

Plus the tickets will be cheaper and instead of having some day tripper to war you up, you will be able to afford a hot COFFEE to keep you warm, or a few beers.

I think we will stay up though.

Re: Relegation
I'd prefer relegation to another season like this one.

Mainly so that Sullivan can have nowhere left to go other than admit what a know nothing charlatan cunt he is.
